“Our Time” Fundraiser for Shepherd’s Cove
1
On Wednesday, I was the official videographer for a WUSA “Our Time” event. Guests were treated to a tasty dinner from the Pienza Italian Restaurant inside the new Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center. The center features glass ceilings and a magnificent view of the harbor. (I was able to get a quick tour of the kitchen, and even try some of the food. Yum!) J.C. Hayward spoke at the event, and even got the chef to demonstrate how to make a fantastic risotto.
The event not only showcased this new venue– it helped raise money for a local organization. More than $2,000 was raised for the Shepherd’s Cove women’s shelter. It’s a 100-bed facility in Price George’s County that also provides educational and day-care services for homeless women.
I took video of the food and the fun. Magician George Bradley was there, along with a band that played with pots and pans instead of drums. I used a new Flip Video Camera. Because the camera is so small, I had to explain that it took video. (Many people stopped and posed for the camera.) It was a nice event, and I’m excited to do it again!

I’m from DC but I don’t live there anymore. So it is nice to see people, like J.C. Hayward that I saw almost ever day on local television. BTW, nice job with the flip.
