It’s not easy to stay on schedule. Every week is an opportunity to create new, better habits. Last week started off strong and then fell apart. This week, I’m already starting out behind. I was cleared to run this weekend by my physical therapist, but only allowed to do five-minute intervals. So Saturday morning, I put on my running shoes and strapped on my stop watch and took off to the park. I was out there for 36 minutes and ran about a total of 30 minutes which is equivalent to three miles…

I wanted to start my training routine last week. I designed an entire program to transform myself into a strong, fast, and flexible runner. The goal: 4 races including a full marathon. My routine was to include yoga, running, biking, weights, and circuit training.
Unfortunately, I had to throw my plan out the window because of a back injury. I did nothing last week. I wasn’t allowed to run, do yoga, or anything that might hurt my back, like bending over or one-man-banding. I can’t even pick up my cats. It’s more than frustrating. Although it’s a major set-back, I have found a way to overcome it: focus on my physical therapy exercises…
